Review of Guide 4 (screen 10 of 10)

In this Guide you learnt that if you are going to be connected to the Internet, then this decision should be integrated into your business plan.

You learnt that there should be wide staff involvement in planning for the Internet. There should also be a critical SWOT-type analysis of your organisation.

You learnt that you should carefully analyse why you will get connected. What will it do for your organisation?

As a part of the strategy for an Internet presence, you learnt that there must be ways of assessing its success and future development.

Ask yourself this...

  • Who will be involved in planning my website?
  • Is management committed to the website?
  • Do I have a business plan?
  • Who are my main competitors online?
  • What types of people would be interested in my website?
  • What will I put on my website that will promote my organisation?
  • How will I ensure that my website is suited to an international audience?
  • How will I assess whether I have met all the objectives for my website strategy?
  • How will I monitor my site?
  • How will I ensure the site is kept up-to-date?
